'Spider-Man' Actor Willem Dafoe Joins 'Justice League' In Mystery Role

It looks like Warner Bros. is plucking from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies to fill its Justice League supporting cast. With J.K. Simmons already on board to play Commissioner Jim Gordon, THR reports that Willem Dafoe, who played Green Goblin in the Spidey flicks, has signed on for an unspecified role.

While details are being kept hidden, his role isn't what you were probably thinking. The trade says he won't be playing a villain but a "good guy", which could mean just about anything. Chances are he won't be donning a pair of tights and suiting up as Ambush Bug or anything like that, but maybe some kind of civilian supporter of the team?

Directed by Zack Snyder and set to star Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, and Amber Heard, Justice League part one opens November 10th 2017.
