'The Flash' And 'Green Lantern Corps' Rumored Character Details

If the buzz from out of Warner Bros. is any indication, we won't be seeing Green Lantern any time soon. There's a possibility the emerald hero won't appear in either Justice League movie, and will instead debut in Green Lantern Corp, which is due to arrive in 2020. That's a long wait. Meanwhile, we caught a couple of glimpses at Ezra Miller as the Flash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, setting up his 2018 solo film. Regardless of how far away both those movies are, some rumored details have emerged that are worth paying attention to, even if they should be taken with an entire bucket of salt.

One of the things we've heard about Green Lantern Corps is that it could be a little like an intergalactic buddy cop movie, with multiple Green Lanterns in the lead roles. The likelihood is that Hal Jordan and John Stewart are the two lead ring-bearers, but Latino Review says to expect Kyle Rayner to be in the film, as well. Rayner. So wait...no Guy Gardner? That would be unacceptable! Anyway, the site also says an older actor will be sought for Jordan, while younger stars will play Stewart and Rayner. We shall see.

Next up is Heroic Hollywood, who supposedly got their hands on a casting call sheet listing the main supporting characters in The Flash. What you'll note is that many of them are featured characters on The Flash TV series, which is a little surprising if Warner Bros. is trying to avoid confusing casual fans of the character. Here's the character breakdown which, again, is a little weird in that it's so straight-forward and not veiled like so many casting calls are...

IRIS WEST: Iris West is described in the breakdown as having Christiane Amanpour’s brains and Carrie Bradshaw’s style. An overcaffinated doe. A reporter at The Central City Citizen. Actresses are currently testing for this part.

EOBARD THAWNE: Eobard Thawne is described in the breakdown as Central City’s Bill Gates. The smartest man in the room and he suffers from advanced degenerative disease like Stephen Hawking. Thawne is confined to a chair.

FRED CHYRE: Fred Chyre is described in the breakdown as a gruff detective who first meets Barry at the scene of a crime. Now they’re colleagues and the closest thing Barry has to a friend. Chryre is investigating the unusual death of someone at Thawne Laboratories

LEN SNART: Len Snart is described in the breakdown as being ex-military and turns out to be working for Thawne. Have a feeling he is the muscle the way Anatoli Knyazev (aka the KGBEAST) was the muscle for Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

JAY GARRICK: Jay Garrick is described in the breakdown as being a former Central University professor who was fired for fringe science, and was working on the speed force program. Supposedly his role is just a cameo.

Sounds totally like an episode of the TV series, right? This could all be a studio fake out, so just keep that in mind.
