Marvel's 'Inhumans' Officially Taken Off The Schedule

Well, it's official: fans of Marvel's Inhumans are going to be waiting even longer for them to hit the big screen. The problem is that we don't know how long that wait is going to be. A couple of weeks ago Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige said the film might be "shuffled" off of its July 2019 release date, and today that was confirmed as Disney pulled it completely off the schedule.

The reason Feige gave was the influx of projects that have altered Marvel's priorities. Among those are Spider-Man: Homecoming which opens in July 2017, plus Ant-Man & The Wasp which arrives a year later.  Stacking the deck further is the addition of Indiana Jones 5, which Disney set in 2019 just a week after Inhumans would have opened. This is the problem Disney will continue to run into with so many franchises under their charge.

So for now, Inhumans is on the backburner. It has a screenplay by Joe Robert Cole (Black Panther) but no director. Marvel's Agents of SHIELD remains the only place where the Inhumans are going to be seen for a while.
