Trailer For Political Comedy 'Elvis & Nixon' With Michael Shannon And Kevin Spacey

Think of Kevin Spacey as the President of the United States and it should give you chills, at least if you've been watching Netflix's House of Cards, it should. But that perception of him as the most powerful man on the planet could change after Liza Johnson's comedy, Elvis & Nixon, which recounts one of the most unbelievable meetings in United States history.

A new trailer for the film does a good job of capturing the ironic tone, not dissimilar to the 1999 Nixon comedy, Dick.  What's interesting about this is Michael Shannon in the role of Elvis Presley, who in 1970 orchestrated a meeting with Nixon so he could be deputized as a federal agent in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, keeping an eye on hippies and Beatles fans.

Sound ridiculous? Well, that's what makes it so much fun.  Also starring Johnny Knoxville, Alex Pettyfer, Colin Hanks, Tracy Letts, and Evan Peters, Elvis & Nixon opens April 22nd. Look for our review tomorrow.
