Trailer For Stephen King's 'Cell' Has John Cusack And Samuel L. Jackson Fighting Deadly "Phoners"
A movie about a deadly cell phone signal that turns people into dangerous murderers? Yeah, okay, maybe it could work? Or at least it could if it came from the mind Stephen King, and fortunately that's the case for Cell, which stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson in what looks like a wild Carpenter-esque throwback.
Co-written by King himself and directed by Tod Williams (Paranormal Activity 2), the film centers on a man who must find his wife and daughter after a rogue cell phone signal turns the people around him into rabid killers. Jackson plays a train driver who teams up with him to battle the deadly hordes. Cusack and Jackson previously starred in the King adaptation 1408 and that turned out to be excellent (they were last in Chi-Raq together), so here's hoping they can recapture that success here. The film co-stars Isabelle Fuhrman and Stacy Keach.
Cell hits theaters on July 8th but will arrive on VOD June 10th.
