It's not often that you see directors release two brand new movies in the same month, but that's exactly what Catfish directing duo Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost will do in July. Not only do they have Nerve, the truth-or-dare thriller starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco, but they also have the lesser-known Viral. Despite its title and the pair's affinity for social media-geared flicks, the film looks of a similar nature to Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later.
Starring Sophia Black-D'Elia (Project Almanac), Analeigh Tipton (Mississippi Grind), Travis Tope (Independence Day: Resurgence), and Michael Kelly (Dawn of the Dead), the film centers on sisters trying to survive when a virus known as the Worm Flu hits their neighborhood. Deciding to barricade themselves from infection, the siblings are forced to decide between protecting themselves or surviving the virus when it strikes their home.
Viral hits select theaters and VOD on July 29th before a DVD release on August 2nd.
