Ex-WWE Superstar Wade Barrett To Star In Action Flick, 'Vengeance'

Many WWE superstars leave the squared circle with hopes of making it big in Hollywood, but few actually achieve that dream. Not everybody can be The Rock. But lately we've seen that you don't need to be one of WWE's top stars to get a chance as an actor. Cody Rhodes recently quit the company and landed a plum gig on CW's Arrow, and we just saw Sheamus (who is still wrestling regularly) in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

The latest to get his shot is Sheamus' former League of Nations brother, Wade Barrett, who just revealed on Twitter that he'll be starring in the Brit action flick, Vengeance.
Barrett, now going by his real name Stu Bennett, will be playing  ex-mercenary John Gold who when he "learns that his best friend has been murdered, he sets off to find the killers, only to discover a sinister conspiracy." Ross Boyask is directing with martial artist Gary Daniels (The Expendables) as the film's villain.

This won't be Barrett's first time in front of the camera, either. In 2013 he had a small role in Dead Man Down opposite Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace. Considering how badly WWE botched his run with the company, squandering the heat he had as leader of the Nexus stable and as King of the Ring, Bennett deserves a shot at the spotlight however he can get it.
