Stellan Skarsgard Seeks Cold Revenge In Trailer For 'In Order Of Disappearance'

Just a couple of months ago Liam Neeson became attached to star in an American remake of Norwegian revenge flick, In Order of Disappearance. And well, maybe that was all the juice needed to get the original on our shores, because it's here and the Stellan Skarsgard-led revenge film has debuted an awesome trailer.

The icy cold yet strangely comical tone of the trailer is apparently what we can expect, based on the largely positive reviews from a couple of years ago. Directed by Hans Petter Moland (who will also direct the remake) with Bruno Ganz, Birgitte Hjort Sorensen, Pål Sverre Hagen, Jakob Oftebro, and Kristofer Hivju co-starring, the film stars Skarsgard as an ordinary snowplow driver who seeks revenge on those responsible for his son's death. Here's a more thorough synopsis:

Introverted and hard-working snowplow driver Nils has just been named “Citizen of the Year,” when he receives news that his son has died of a heroin overdose. Disbelieving the official report, Nils soon uncovers evidence of the young man’s murder – a victim in a turf war between the local crime boss, known as “The Count,” and his Serbian rivals. Armed with heavy machinery and a good dose of beginner’s luck, Nils embarks upon a quest for revenge that soon escalates into a full-blown underworld gang war, with the body count spiraling ever higher and higher.

My first thought was that this reminded me of Morten Tyldum's black comedy, Headhunters, and if it's half as good as that then we're all in for a treat. In Order of Disappearance opens August 26th in theaters and VOD.
