Woody Harrelson Rejoins Rob Reiner For WMD Drama, 'Shock And Awe'

Woody Harrelson recently wrapped shooting on LBJ, a biopic from legendary director Rob Reiner, and already the two are itching to work together again. Deadline reports Harrelson is in talks for Reiner's Iraq War drama, Shock and Awe, which promises to be highly controversial.

The film is penned by LBJ writer Joey Hartstone, and centers on journalists who had the courage to question the official government statement regarding Saddam Hussein's alleged weapons of mass destruction. The Bush Administration used that to gain public support for invading Iraq, although evidence soon emerged that the intelligence was both faulty and cherry-picked to achieve the desired result.

Reiner, who along with being one of our great directors, is a well-known political activist and this would be right up his alley. The plan is for filming to begin later this year. Harrelson can be seen right now in Now You See Me 2, and has multiple projects on the way including George Clooney's Suburbicon, War for the Planet of the Apes, The Glass Castle opposite Brie Larson, and the latest film from Martin McDonagh.
