Remember all of those years Robert Zemeckis spent making really expensive performance capture movies like The Polar Expressand Beowulf? Seems like a life time ago, doesn't it? Those efforts didn't amount to much even if they did help push the technology forward. But the last two years have found him back doing awards-caliber dramas again, with mixed results. Flight ended up being fairly successful while The Walk had a lot of hype with little to show for it. Now Zemeckis is back in the race again with Allied, a WWII drama starring the irresistible duo of Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard.
After the first images arrived a few days ago we now have the teaser for Allied, which stars Pitt intelligence officer Max Vatan and Cotillard as French resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour. In 1942 North Africa the two encounter one another behind enemy lines and fall in love, only to have their relationship threatened years later by pressures of the war.
Also starring Matthew Goode and Lizzy Caplan, Allied opens November 23rd.
