Brie Larson To Direct And Star In Comedy, 'Unicorn Store'

This has already been a banner year for Brie Larson and it's only going to get better. She kicked off 2016 by winning the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Room, followed this summer by the announcement she'd star in Captain Marvel. That shot her dramatic and fanboy cred through the roof, and now she's moving into the world of filmmaking with her directorial debut, Unicorn Store.

If the title sounds familiar, then you have one Hell of a memory. Four years ago Rebel Wilson was attached to star in the comedy, riding high on her breakout Bridesmaids turn. Miguel Arteta (Cedar Rapids) was set to direct at the time, but now Larson will direct, produce and star. Wow. Written by Samantha McIntyre, the story will find Larson as a woman who moves back in with her parents, only to be invited to the mysterious titular store where she learns what growing up is all about.

With Larson's busy schedule it's no surprise a quick October shoot has been planned, and given her higher profile the timing for this kind of move couldn't be better. [THR]
