'Curious George' Movie Lands 'Shrek' Director, Josh Mond To Direct 'Who Is Jake Ellis?'

Your kid brother is about to very happy because there's a new Curious George movie on the way. Yaaayyyyy...?  Didn't we just have one of these? Well, that was the 2006 animated film with Will Ferrell voicing the man in the yellow hat, but this version will be live-action and completely unrelated to it. Andrew Adamson, best known for directing Shrek and the first two 'Chronicles of Narnia' movies, will direct and co-write the screenplay based on Margret and Hans Augusto Rey's classic book series about everyone's favorite mischievous monkey. Promising director Josh Mond, who broke out with last year's intense drama James White, has found his next project. He'll direct Who Is Jake Ellis?, an adaptation of the Image Comics graphic novel by Nathan Edmonson and Tonci Zonjic. If this sounds familiar, it's because David Yates (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) was attached to it three years ago, but this is a more exciting prospect in my opinion. The story centers on top spy-for-hire John Moore, whose incredible ability is linked a mysterious and invisible psychic guide who helps him out of impossible situations. Deadline's story refers to a character named Silas rather than John Moore, and says that a new writer will be brought aboard now that Mond is involved. So we could see some other changes to the story.
