First Look At Chris Pratt And Jennifer Lawrence's Sci-Fi Romance, 'Passengers'
The upcoming sci-fi drama Passengers was built as a two-person love story, and has always had a dynamic couple at the top of the ticket. At one point it was meant as a vehicle for Keanu Reeves and Reese Witherspoon, only to have her replaced by Rachel McAdams. Production troubles delayed the film even as Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) came on board to direct. Reeves bowed out, and the film gained a new lease on life when superstar duo Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence signed on. Finally it's heading towards theaters this awards season and EW has a first look at the outer space romance.
Written by Jon Spaihts (Doctor Strange, Prometheus), the story follows a passenger on a spaceship making a centuries long journey. Woken up early out of cryogenic sleep, he faces a long, lonely death, so he wakes up a beautiful woman to accompany him. Sounds mighty selfish of him, so I hope she doesn't just instantly fall in love with him. Make him work for it.
Also starring Laurence Fishburne, Aurora Perrineau, and Michael Sheen, Passengers opens December 21st.
