Holiday movies simply aren't for everybody. I, for one, am not a fan unless it's A Christmas Story or...Bad Santa. The latter film appeals to those who like their Christmas tidings as naughty as possible, but it has been thirteen years since that R-rated classic and one has to wonder if Bad Santa 2 can live up to the original.
The latest red band trailer certainly does its best to convince that, at least on the vulgarity scale it's right up there with its predecessor. Billy Bob Thornton is back as Willie Soke, the world's worst, drunkest mall Santa. Along with his fun-sized sidekick Marcus (Tony Cox) and a grown-up Thurman Merman (Brett Kelly), he sets off to rob a charity on Christmas Eve, a despicable act that should make us hate him. The trick will be showing just enough of Willie's decent side so that we don't.
Also starring Kathy Bates, Christina Hendricks, Ryan Hansen, but sadly no Lauren Graham, Bad Santa 2 opens November 23rd.
