First Look At Anne Hathaway In Monster Flick 'Colossal'
Want to know an easy way to sell your movie, not only to studios but to moviegoers? Describe it as Godzilla meets Lost in Translation. How the Hell is that supposed to work? I don't know, but I damn sure want to see director Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes) try with his upcoming film Colossal, and with it headed to TIFF the first look at what he pulled off is here.
The first images don't reveal much except for star Anne Hathaway, and certainly nothing of the monster her character shares some kind of connection to even though it's all the way on the other side of the world. Here's the official synopsis:
Gloria is an ordinary woman who, after losing her job and being kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend, is forced to leave her life in New York and move back to her hometown. When news reports surface that a giant creature is destroying Seoul, South Korea, Gloria gradually comes to the realization that she is somehow connected to this far-off phenomenon. As events begin to spin out of control, Gloria must determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.
It will be interesting to see what kind of visual spin Vigalondo, who last directed the thriller Open Windows, puts on this one. Colossal co-stars Jason Sudeikis, Dan Stevens, Austin Stowell, and Tim Blake Nelson.
