Pierce Brosnan Joins 'The Only Living Boy In New York', Ed Skrein Boards 'Alita: Battle Angel'

Pierce Brosnan is joining Callum Turner, Kate Beckinsale, Kiersey Clemons, and Jeff Bridges in The Only Living Boy in New York. It's the upcoming film from The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb, which features a script by Allan Loeb that centers on a recent college grad who begins a relationship with his father's mistress. Details on Brosnan's role aren't clear, and I don't know if he or Bridges is playing boy's cheating dad. Brosnan can be seen right now in I.T., a tech thriller that I hear is absolutely atrocious, which only makes me want to see it more. [Deadline]

Deadpool and Transporter Refueled star Ed Skrein has joined the James Cameron-produced Alita: Battle Angel. Robert Rodriguez is directing the manga adaptation which will star Rosa Salazar as a cyborg discovered in a trash heap and rebuilt into a fierce bounty hunter by a scientist played by Christoph Waltz. Jackie Earle Haley is playing a monstrous CGI villain, while Skrein will be another bad guy, Zapan, who is in possession of a weapon known as the Damascus Blade.  [THR]
