Despite Pitch Perfect 2 exceeding the high bar set by the a capella comedy's predecessor (at least financially, creatively it was a bit pitchy), it was one and done for Elizabeth Banks behind the camera. That left Universal with a major slot to fill as head of one of their most lucrative franchises, and after an extensive search they've settled on another director with franchise experience to lead Pitch Perfect 3.
Step Up: All In director Trish Sie will now take over Pitch Perfect 3, bringing her extensive music video and Grammy-winning choreography experience. Should we expect the Bellas to break out the serious dance moves next time? Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Brittany Snow are confirmed to return but we should expect other faces new and familiar to sign on. Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two movies, is penning the third and I'm genuinely curious where she plans to take the story next.
Pitch Perfect 3 opens December 22nd 2017.
