Tomorrow you'll be able to get the excellent Hunt for the Wilderpeople on DVD and Blu-Ray, but if you aren't sure whether to check it out, preview the first 10-minutes here. That film saw Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi giving Sam Neill his best role in years, and apparently the two hit it off quite nicely. Neill has been doing press for the 'Wilderpeople' home release, and he revealed that he has a role in Thor: Ragnarok, as well. Sorta.
“I’m not really allowed to say this and I can’t tell you what it is… I did a couple of days on Thor just before I came over here. If I say anything else, Marvel’s secret agents — and they are lethal — will come and get me and probably my children, as well.”
Not only is the reunion of Neill and Waititi pretty cool, but it also reunites the actor with his Jurassic Park co-star, Jeff Goldblum. Now, Neill attempted to walk things back a little bit on Twitter, while still having fun with the uproar his comments caused...
Dammit , Now you've told everyone. Yes, I was playing a Dark Horse on some kind of Dark Horse Planet . And making tea for @TaikaWaititi https://t.co/uVWVK1rXyB— Sam Neill (@TwoPaddocks) September 25, 2016
Not sure I'm IN #ThorRagnarok exactly. Was ON SET 4 or 5 days. Making tea for @TaikaWaititi mostly. Working out w @chrishemsworth etc https://t.co/p6RtY35ej9— Sam Neill (@TwoPaddocks) September 25, 2016
If he only spent a couple of days on set that means Neill's role isn't a big one, but could it at least be a character of importance to the MCU? It would be a waste for it not to be. Thor: Ragnarok opens November 3rd 2017.
