New York Comic-Con turned out to be huge for Marvel and Warner Bros.'s TV universes, but let's not forget 20th Century Fox has their own superhero thing going on. FX's X-men spinoff Legion revealed the first half of its hour-long premiere episode, which has received mostly solid reviews from those in attendance. And now that intro has been followed by the news of Jemaine Clement joining the series for a multi-episode arc.
The Flight of the Conchords and Moana star will play an unknown mutant character in the show which stars Dan Stevens as Professor Charles Xavier's mentally ill son, David. David is one of the most powerful mutants on the planet, but he's also a diagnosed schizophrenic who has been in and out of hospitals most of his life. But is he really sick? Or is it just a manifestation of his power to alter reality?

Hawley also showed off this illustrated poster featuring pretty much everybody in the cast, with the exception of Clement. In it you see Stevens surrounded by Aubrey Plaza as David's friend Lenny Busker, Rachel Keller as Syd, Jean Smart as David's therapist Melanie, Katie Aselton as David's sister Amy, plus Bill Irwin, Amber Midthunder, and Jeremie Harris.
As for a connection to the X-Men movies, it probably won't go too far. The chances of seeing James McAvoy or Patrick Stewart as Xavier are practically zero, but you never know what could happen in the future. Legion debuts on FX in early 2017.
