Michael Keaton Finally Confirmed As The Vulture In 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

We've suspected for a while now that Michael Keaton's role in Spider-Man: Homecoming would be as villain the Vulture. That was always the rumor, but for months nobody at Marvel confirmed it even as promo images confirmed the character was in the film. Well now we have that confirmation and it comes straight from Marvel's Kevin Feige, so we know it's solid.

Feige spoke with the Toronto Sun and dropped the news matter-of-factly while talking about future bad guys in the MCU. Vulture is one of Spider-Man's oldest foes, debuting in The Amazing Spider-Man #2 way back in 1963. Keaton will be a much younger version of Adrian Toomes than is usually depicted in the comics. Toomes built a flight harness that gives him enhanced strength and the ability to fly, obviously.

The Amazing Spider-Man opens July 7th 2017.
