Olivia Munn Joins Shane Black's Suburban-Set 'The Predator'

Shane Black could make a pretty good X-Men vs. Predator movie if he wanted to right now. As he  gears up for 20th Century Fox's sequel to the classic 1987 action flick, he's already cast Logan star Boyd Holbrook, who came in to replace Benicio Del Toro. And now THR reports Olivia Munn, who played Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse, is in talks to join The Predator.

While the addition of Munn is a big deal, the most surprising news is on the film's setting. We've seen the predator stalk his prey in the jungle and on the concrete jungles of Los Angeles gang turf. But this new movie will actually take place in the suburbs, which is...interesting. So are we talking about the Predator firing killer razor discs across schoolyards and blowing up the neighborhood farmers market?

If anybody can make something like this work it's Black, so color me excited to see how this plays out. As Munn and Boyd's characters, she'll play a scientist while he is a special forces commando. Hopefully she gets to see more action than her role would suggest.  The Predator opens February 9th 2018.
