There have been a ton of questions surrounding Ghost In the Shell, most of them stemming from the casting of Scarlett Johansson as The Major, a cyborg-human hybrid who leads a special task force known as Section 9. While the controversy surrounding the casting of Johansson in a role previously seen as Asian has died down a little, there were also concerns about one particular scene that saw the Major in suit that made her appear to be nude. How would that look? Well now we know.
A brief teaser shows Johansson's character emerging in her thermoptic suit which turns her invisible and gives the appearance that she's nude. It's a bad-ass moment in the anime, the manga, and appears to be so here, as well.
A full trailer arrives in less than a week so expect to see plenty more then. Directed by Rupert Sanders and co-starring Pilou Asbæk, Michael Pitt, Juliette Binoche, Kaori Momoi, Rila Fukushima, Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo, Ghost In the Shell opens March 31st 2017.
