Amanda Seyfried Helps Shirley MacLaine Get 'The Last Word' In Sundance Comedy's First Trailer

Okay gang it's time for a breather. Let's take a break from the incredible run of blockbuster trailers for a few minutes. The Sundance Film Festival is only weeks away and that means movies that are going to be a little bit quieter and hopefully more meaningful. And one that hopes to find a ray of humor in the subject of death is The Last Word, which stars Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried.

Directed by Mark Pellington (director of Arlington Road, a personal favorite), the film centers on Harriet, an aging control freak who even wants to control how her obituary is worded. Seyfried is Anne, a local writer hired to get the job done, but finds it difficult to find anybody in town with something nice to say about her. The working relationship turns into something greater than either woman could have expected.  Thomas Sadoski, Anne Heche, Philip Baker Hall, Tom Everett Scott, and Sarah Baker co-star

Following its Park City premiere The Last Word will hit theaters on March 3rd 2017.
