'Fast 8' Title Revealed As 'The Fate Of The Furious' In New Teaser

Has this been a crazy couple of days for trailers or what? It seems like everybody is dropping teases for some of next year's biggest movies, but dammit they don't get any bigger than Fast & Furious, and the first footage has hit the tracks for the eighth film, newly-titled The Fate of the Furious.

That's an ominous title for Vin Diesel and his crew but the stakes have never been higher. Charlize Theron is coming aboard as the chief villain, joined by fellow new additions Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren (!!!). The full trailer will drop this Sunday, so we only get quick glimpses of Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese, and Theron. Jason Statham will return, and so will Lucas Black who hasn't been seen since 'Tokyo Drift'. Oh, and some hot babes and fast cars since this wouldn't be Fast & Furious without either. Here's the official synopsis:

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.

Directed by F. Gary Gray, The Fate of the Furious opens April 14th 2017.
