Brit Marling And Zal Batmanglij Are Back In First Trailer For Netflix's 'The OA'
I was just telling a friend that it's been way too long since we'd seen anything from the duo of Brit Marling and Zal Batmangli. Together they gave us two brilliant explorations of cult behavior, Sound of My Voice and The East. While they wont't be coming back to the big screen just yet, it's pretty exciting to get the firs trailer from their mysterious Netflix series, The OA, which is dropping sooner than any of us thought.
Batmanglij will direct and co-write the 8-episode series that Marling co-wrote and stars in as Prairie Johnson, a missing blind girl who suddenly returns home with her sight restored. Emory Cohen, Scott Wilson, Phyllis Smith, Jason Isaacs, Alice Krige, Patrick Gibson, Brendan Meyer, Ian Alexander and Brandon Perea co-star. Here's the full synopsis:
The Netflix original series The OA, which launches this Friday, is from visionaries Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij (Sound of My Voice, The East), who created and wrote the eight chapter, mind-bending odyssey together. The show begins with a missing blind girl in her twenties, Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling), who comes home to the community she grew up in with her sight restored. Some hail her a miracle, others a dangerous mystery, but Prairie won’t talk about her seven years missing with the FBI or her parents.
And The OAis arriving fast as Netflix will drop the entire thing this Friday, December 16th. Are we looking at the next Stranger Things?
