First Posters For Christopher Nolan's WWII Drama, 'Dunkirk'

If the last week of blockbuster trailer after blockbuster trailer has shown us anything it's that 2017 is going to be another massive year. And to think, we haven't even seen one for what will be the most anticipated movie to a lot of people, Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk. Well that changes in just a few days when the trailer hits, but for now feast your eyes on the first pair of teaser posters.

Nolan is hitting the battlefields of WWII with this one, giving us his depiction of Operation Dynamo, the massive evacuation of British Expeditionary Force (BEF) and Allied troops surrounded by enemy forces on the beaches of Dunkirk. We've seen shots from the set that prove Nolan is pulling out all of the stops to make this as authentic as possible, and possible his biggest production yet.  Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, and Kenneth Branagh will be taking a backseat to Fionn Whitehead, Aneurin Barnard, Harry Styles, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, and Barry Keoghan.

One of the posters is pretty standard I think, with the lone soldier staring off into the distance. It's basically the same setup we saw in Nolan's Bat-flicks. The other image is a piece of German propaganda showing just how hopeless the Operation will be.

Dunkirk hits theaters on July 21st 2017.
