At this point I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever see Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. I was there at Comic-Con a couple of years ago when the director tried to energize the crowd with some words from the set, which goes to show how long the film has been completed. Nobody seemed to care then, and buzz hasn't picked up since. So maybe that's why Warner Bros. has decided to delay its release once again, this time moving it from March 24th 2017 to May 12th, putting it in the thick of summer season.
The film stars Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Jude Law, Eric Bana, and Djimon Honsou, and has been described as a gritty reimagining with the potential to span six movies. We'll see about that.
The move opens up a slot for the comedic TV adaptation CHiPs, which moves up to March 24th. Dax Shepard will direct and co-star alongside Michael Pena as motorcycle patrol cops Jon Baker and "Ponch".
The Amandla Stenberg teen romance Everything, Everything is swapping places with horror sequel, Annabelle 2. Everything, Everything, which finds The Hunger Games actress as a young girl with severe immunodeficiency, opens May 19th. The killer doll Annabelle will return to scare audiences on August 11th.
