Mark Wahlberg Is Boston Strong In New Trailer For 'Patriots Day'

A few months ago Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg got together for Deepwater Horizon, their second film based on a tragic real-life event. The Lone Survivor duo did what I think was a tremendous job turning the oil disaster into an inspiring story of human triumph, but sadly audiences didn't seem to pay it a lot of mind. Well now they're back again with Patriots Day, another drama that shows how strong we can be when faced with a common tragedy to overcome.

Wahlberg has been skirting along the edges of the Oscar race for his role in the film, but he's really just a piece of a large ensemble full of talented stars. The story details how the people of Boston came together in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. Not just the various police organizations that were part of the manhunt, but the ordinary citizens who were integral in finding the terrorists responsible.  Michelle Monaghan, John Goodman, JK Simmons, Kevin Bacon, Melissa Benoist, Alex Wolff, Rachel Brosnahan, and more co-star.

Patriots Day opens in select cities on December 21st before going wide January 13th 2017.
