WWE Superstars Catch Some Waves In the 'Surf's Up 2: WaveMania' Trailer

The 2007 animated film Surf's Up was only a modest success at the box office, coming along during the tail end of the penguin craze. But it managed to earn an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, which is cred that a lot of better movies couldn't achieve. Chances are the sequel, Surf's Up 2: WaveMania, won't be able to make such a claim, either, since its voice cast is made up of WWE superstars.

John Cena, The Undertaker, Paige (In the most WWE work she's had in 6 months), Triple H, and Vince McMahon a bunch of muscle-bound penguins known as The Hang 5 in the sequel continuing the adventures of surfer Cody Maverick. Here's the synopsis:

Cody Maverick, hungry for a new challenge, convinces an infamous big wave riding crew known as The Hang 5 (voiced by WWE Superstars John Cena, Undertaker, Triple H, Paige and Mr. McMahon) to let him join them on their journey to a mysterious surf spot known as The Trenches, where legend has it, they’ll find the biggest waves in the world. Cody soon discovers that the life he left behind might be more heroic than what any death-defying wave has to offer.

Directed by Henry Yu and including the voices of Jon Heder, Diedrich Bader and Jeremy Shada, Surf's Up 2: WaveMania hits home release on January 17th 2017.
