Two Cool 'Blade Runner 2049' Posters'; Dave Bautista Says It's "Better Than" The Original
We still don't know a lot about Blade Runner 2049, and hopefully the mystery will be kept a tight secret. It should be enough that Harrison Ford was willing to return for the sci-fi sequel after all of these years, with original director Ridley Scott producing now while Denis Villeneuve takes over behind the camera. It means Ford holds it at least in the same esteem as Star Wars and Indiana Jones, both of which he's also come back for.
Two new posters have emerged that are like polar opposites, which is kind of cool. One features Ford as former blade runner Rick Deckard, who has been in hiding for 30 years, and the other Ryan Gosling as Agent K who is on his trail. There isn't a ton to these images but that giant statue head behind Ford could mean something more than just screaming "post-apocalyptic".
The cast assembled for this is insane with Hiam Abbass, Barkhad Abdi, Ana De Armas, David Dastmalchian, Mackenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Carla Juri, Robin Wright, a special returning character, and Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista. Bautista actually has some bold words in regards to the sequel that he knows are going to stir up a hornets nest with fans of the original. He tells AFP...
"I think it's going to be -- and this is hard to say because I know I'm going to get some grief for this -- I think it's going to be better than the first film...And I'm saying that because I think the script is better, it's deeper. I think it's a better story, I think it's told in a better way, and I think it just answers a lot of questions. It's going to be great."
We'll see. Blade Runner 2049 opens October 6th.
