Comic-Con: 'The Flash' Movie Based On "Flashpoint"; Robin Part Of 'Batgirl' Movie
Who's breathless right now trying to keep up with everything Warner Bros. just dropped on our heads? I am, but they just gave us a huge update on their upcoming slate of DC Universe flicks.
The opening of the Justice League showed flashed all of the upcoming movies. In it were teases for Wonder Woman 2, Suicide Squad 2, Justice League Dark, The Batman, Shazam, Aquaman, Green Lantern Corps, and, surprisingly, The Flash: Flashpoint. It looks as if the The Flash will use the important "Flashpoint" storyline, which was recently used in the CW TV series. In it, Barry Allen caused a rift in the timestream that altered significant events and people, while he was the only one who knew. I'm sure we'll see some things changed for the movie, but it's probably still a long ways off as it doesn't have a director yet.
Also shown was a title card for Joss Whedon's Batgirl, and what some may have missed because of the wide panoramic view covering all of Hall H, is that it also featured Robin in the frame. So Batgirl and Robin both making their official DCEU debuts? Pretty cool, and I can't wait to learn more.
Noticeably missing from the list? Man of Steel 2 and Cyborg. I don't want to read too much into that but it seems Warner Bros. is still figuring things out with some of their characters
