The arrival of this morning's teaser for The Punisher isn't a coincidence. Today Netflix also dropped the first season of The Defenders, which unites heroes Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Daredevil. It was in Daredevil's second season that Jon Bernthal debuted as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, leaving a bloody trail of damage that elevated the show to another level. He was so popular, they pretty much had to give him his own series.
And judging by this footage, it's exactly what fans hoped for. The brief footage shows Castle taking a sledgehammer to the ground while reliving some of the torments of his life. Of course, he'll also be taking a sledgehammer to organized crime, at least when he's not drowning them in bullets. The footage can also be found in the post-credits scene after the final episode of The Defenders, so stick around if you want.
