Hmmm...are we starting to see too much of Darren Aronofsky's mysterious, tantalizingly bizarre mother!? The film has been teased so perfectly that to release new images and a pair of trailers in such rapid order feels unnecessary and possibly counterproductive. But here we are anyway with another teaser for the film Aronosfky has said is closer in tone to Black Swan.
Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Ed Harris star in the psychological thriller about a couple whose marriage goes to pot when uninvited guests arrive. In a recent conversation with my pal Chris Bumbray of Joblo.com, we talked about Lawrence's recent tendency to overact, a byproduct of her run of movies with David O. Russell and the acclaim she earned from them. We both agree she's not the right actress when modulation is called for, but she might be perfect for this where all of the performances appear to be huge and exaggerated.
