The wait ended up being worth it for Deadpool director, Tim Miller. He was attached to the hugely successful comic book film for a long time before it actually got moving, and it has done nothing but open up doors for the 46-year-old filmmaker. James Cameron selected him to direct his upcoming Terminator reboot, assuming that it will actually happen, anyway. And now Miller is taking on the long-developing adaptation of William Gibson's cyberpunk classic, Neuromancer.
In the works for years, with Joseph Kahn (Torque) and Vincenzo Natali (Splice) attached previously, Neuromancer is now in Miller's hands. The project is set up at 20th Century Fox and they're tasking X-Men/Fantastic Four staple Simon Kinberg as a producer, which makes sense considering he worked with Miller on Deadpool. It's easier to just give you a synopsis of Gibson's mind-bending story than to try and describe it myself. Just know that it includes a virtual reality world known as "The Matrix". Sound familiar? It's been a pretty big influencer, to say the least:

Who knows when this will happen. Probably not soon since Fox already has Miller set to direct an adaptation of Daniel Suarez's book, Influx. [Deadline]
