Dear John
Yet another Nicholas Sparks adaptation with the same plot and similar death toll.If you've seen one, you've seen them all. The only thing that makes Dear John worthwhile is the grounded performance by rising star, Amanda Seyfried. Channing Tatum does his best to scrape up a genuine emotion or two, but he's better off street fighting in bars or playing an action figure.

The Road
A more visceral, emotional experience you're not likely to find anywhere anytime soon. An adaption of Cormac McCarthy's bleak novel, The Road is a practice in utter hopelessness. Viggo Mortensen stars as the protective father(nobody has any names) of his young son, as they try to navigate a desolate world destroyed by a global disaster. Try not to watch it while depressed.

Samurai Princess
I'm a huge fan of the techno-grindhouse stuff of Japanese flicks like Machine Girl, so I'm hoping for something similar here.  I have no idea what the plot is, but I'm guessing she's looking for revenge.

Mystery Team
Cinematical.com calls Mystery Team a cross between Ace Ventura, Napoleon Dynamite, and Encyclopedia Brown. One of those three is very awesome. Two are crap on celluloid. We made a pretty strong push for having Derrick Comedy's first feature film shown here in DC, but ultimately lost out. The trailers are hilarious, the plot ingenious. A trio of kid detectives have now grown up into immature adults but continue to solve crimes, until one day their skills are put to the test when they must try to solve a murder.
