Sure Shots: The Avengers; Scream 4; Hitman 2

Quickly...

* Over the weekend it was revealed who might be the new blood looking to get hacked up in Wes Craven's latest installment of the Scream franchise. Ashley Greene(Twilight) has been offered the role of Jill, the lead character this time around. Hayden Panettire(I Love You, Beth Cooper) will be her nerdy best friend, and Rory Culkin(Mean Creek) is on board as Jill's boyfriend-type. The surviving cast members from the first three films are back on board as well to "pass the torch".

*An insider source at Marvel told Avengersnews.com that filming on the supehero all-star jam known as The Avengers will begin shooting the first quarter of 2011. The script is not yet completed, and it's expected that the film won't move into the forefront until Captain America: The First Avenger is completed. There's also a rumor that Jennifer Garner is possibly on the list to join the cast, but as who is not yet known. She's already played a prominent Marvel hero as Elektra in both her self-titled film and in 2003's Daredevil.

*More video games to the big screen, although this one at least makes sense. Daniel Benmayor has been tapped to helm a sequel to 2007's surprise hit action film, Hitman, based on the IO Interactive video game. The original Hitman film grossed $99M worldwide on a budget of around $23M, so this comes as no shock. Benmayor is unproven as a director, with only the film Paintball to his credit. I have no idea what that is. The other question is whether or not Fox will exercise their option to bring back star Timothy Olyphant(Justified).
