David Fincher confirmed to direct 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

It was during the San Diego Comic-Con that David Fincher let everyone know that he was planning on helming a remake of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for Disney. At the time the two sides were in talks, but the LA Times is now confirming that Fincher and Disney have come to an agreement.

According to Disney, Fincher is already "working" on the film, but that can't be right since he's currently hammering away at his version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The plan would likely be for Fincher to start work on League after that is completed.

Good news. I'm convinced Fincher can make anything interesting, especially after turning a movie about Facebook into arguably the most exciting flick of the year.
