Trailer Time: Captain America: The First Avenger, starring Chris Evans

So while I was away catching Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch, the trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger came out, courtesy of those breathless gnats over at Entertainment Tonight. Paramount's build-up for the film has been awkward. We got very little promotion for a long time, and now huge deluge of stuff I don't consider to be all that impressive. Of all the superhero adaptations headed our way this year, Captain America continues to be at the bottom of my list.

The trailer is actually pretty good, and confirms to me that the film looks much better in action than in the dozens of images we've seen. It doesn't have the epic look of Thor, nor the stylishness of X-Men: First Class, but what Captain America does have is a pulpy old school comic book feel.  In particular I love the scene of Cap bursting through big steel doors with his shield in one hand, firing a pistol in the other. Just like the good ol' days! The costume still looks campy as hell. Don't even get me started on the attempt to make Chris Evans look like a 90lb. weakling. Disturbing.  Check out the trailer for yourself below!
