Another 'Scream' likely?

I am a self proclaimed fanatic of the original Scream. I mean come on, not only was the movie itself awesome but it reignited the slasher genre for the 90's. I won't go on about how the movies have gotten progressively worse including the latest Scream 4 because you know it already not to mention Travis and I have discussed it at length. At this point I just don't know how they could right this ship that is one bad 'Meta' joke away from being labeled Titanic. This years installment proved to us that it's tour down self-aware avenue ends in a bloody and uneventful car crash. Alas, where there's money to be made there's sure to be a fat cat producer ready to pick it up, and it appears that Scream4 will be a money maker for Dimension despite WAYYY less than stellar domestic box office numbers. Here's the quote from Harvey Weinstein via MTV Movies Blog:

"I'm sure [director Wes Craven is] going to do a sequel, I'm sure he's going to do a sequel," Weinstein insisted when we spoke with him at the Cannes Film Festival last week, stressing that while "Scream 4" didn't perform fantastically in the United States, it's doing quite well overseas.

"Foreign [sales] are so strong that we'll do over $100 million worldwide," said Weinstein. "It's at $90 now, with about five or six major countries to go and a lot of small ones. We'll probably do $110 million."

"I wish it would have been better domestically," he confessed, "But it's not the worst thing in the world that's ever happened."

My big WTF comes from where they would go at this point. Unless I'm missing some crucial element there is no one left to be the killer that wouldn't be downright laughable (Hey! I'm Stu's second-cousin in law, Do you like Scary Movies?), and as for Sidney finally donning the cape and cell, honestly at this point I think that would be the most predictable route. Who knows, I could sit here and bitch all day about why I didn't like the last one but in the end I'll still be catching what ever crap they throw out and stamp SCREAM on opening weekend.
