How high must 11-year old Joey King be riding right now? In the last few months her budding career has taken off, not long after her first starring role in Ramona and Beezus. Earlier this year she had a bit role in Battle: Los Angeles
, and just a few days ago signed on to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. Now Variety reports she'll have a chance to be terrorized by Rachel Weisz in Oz the Great and Powerful.Sam Raimi is directing the prequel, which already has James Franco as Oz, the snake oil salesman and illusionist who gets swept into the magical land. Rachel Weisz is the evil witch Evanora; Michelle Williams is Glenda the good witch; and Mila Kunis as Theodora, who starts off good but is eventually corrupted by her sister. King will play China Girl, who sees the rest of her porcelain family destroyed by Evanora. Oz takes her under his wing, serving as a father figure of sorts. The film is set to release on March 8th 2013. Production gets under way in a couple of months.
Joey King will be seen next in Crazy Stupid Love, starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, and Julianne Moore.
