Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel confirmed for Total Recall; Bill Nighy as rebel leader Quatto

When we first heard that Kate Beckinsale was rumored for a role in Len Wiseman's remake of Total Recall, was there ever any doubt she'd get the gig? He certainly hasn't been shy about casting his wifey in his films before, just look at the Underworld franchise. Collider has now confirmed her participation, which is no surprise, and they also report that Jessica Biel will play the other woman in Douglas Quaid's life. In addition to those two beautiful gals, the decidedly less attractive Bill Nighy has taken on the role of Quatto, the rebel leader. Nighy and Wiseman also worked together on the Underworld films.

Colin Farrell has long beenconfirmed to play Quaid, in the role made somewhat iconic by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1990 film. Beckinsale will be Lori, Quaid's treacherous "wife" originally played by a super hot(and flexible) Sharon Stone. Biel is Rachel, a member of the resistance first embodied by Rachel Ticotin.  Bryan Cranston is the villainous Vilos Cohaagen, with Ethan Hawke set for some sort of surprise cameo which is no longer much of a surprise.

Expect this version of Total Recall to look far different than Paul Verhoeven's film. There's no more planet Mars in the equation, which is strange. Quaid will be a factory worker who begins to believe he's living another life as a spy, but doesn't know if it's for the rebellious Euromerica or the New Shanghai government.

Filming is set to begin next week with an August 2012 release date already nailed down.
