Briefly...because you won't have heard of these two people anyway. If you thought the dark days of daily casting of unknowns for The Hunger Games
was over, there are still a few roles yet to fill. Two more got knocked out today as Lionsgate announced that Latarsha Rose and Brooke Bundy will play Portia and Octavia in Gary Ross's adaptation. What the heck are a Portia and an Octavia, besides sounding like colors in the Crayola box? When Katniss(Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta(Josh Hutcherson) are selected to compete in the annual fight to the death known as the Hunger Games, they are first run through the wardrobe rigors by a prep team of stylists. Portia is Peeta's stylist, while Octavia assists in Katniss's grooming. If it sounds a little weird that a bunch of kids are prettied up just to go out and hack each other to death, well that's all part of the evil Capitol's plan to make these poor victims run through hoops before, during, and after the Games.
For the record, I don't know who these two actresses are, either, but that's Rose on the right and Bundy on the left.
