After three pretty nifty spoof trailers, Nick Stoller, Jason Segel, and Co. gave us a full trailer that was just as silly and subversive as The Muppets were back in the Jim Henson heyday. After being skeptical at first, I've come around to thinking that this might be the sleeper film of the year. Is that crazy, that a bunch of talking puppets could be that damn good? Maybe, maybe not, but I like that Disney is pulling no comedy punches in making sure The Muppets get back into the spotlight. Packing the film with literally dozens of cameos doesn't hurt.
A new international poster has been released, featuring pretty much the entire gang looking like they've been crammed into a closet. It's perfect, really, both chaotic and quirky at the same time.
The Muppets is directed by James Dobin, based on a screenplay by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller. Bret McKenzie(Flight of the Conchords) wrote the music. Jason Segel, Chris Cooper, and Amy Adams star, along with something like 40 cameo guests.
The Muppets opens on November 23rd!
