Rhys Ifans to appear in Bond 23

Rhys Ifans has been around a long time, first really coming to people's attention in the Brit rom-com, Notting Hill. Despite that early success, he's never been more in the spotlight than right now, as he'll be featured as The Lizard in the upcoming reboot of The Amazing Spider-Man. However, according to The Telegraph it may just be the first tentpole for the Welsh actor, as they reveal Ifans will be a part of Sam Mendes' Bond 23.

Not much else is known at this point, as details on the film remain sketchy. We know that Daniel Craig will be back(he and Ifans locked lips in Enduring Love) as Bond; Javier Bardem is set to play the villain, while Ralph Fiennes is some sort of "complex" character on neither side. Naomi Harris was recently confirmed as Moneypenny, while Judi Dench is back as M. Peter Morgan(The Queen) was the first writer on the script, but he has since been replaced by Patrick Marber(Closer).

Shooting begins this fall, and hopefully by then the film will have a suitable title. Ifans was most recently heard not seen as the narrator of the documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop. He's also set to appear in Roland Emmerich's Shakespeare conspiracy film, Anonymous.
