Instead it's been John Goodman who has become a consistently great performer, and 2011 has seen the actor staying busy. He co-stars in Kevin Smith's religious horror,
Red State, and is currently filming Ben Affleck's hostage drama,
Argo. Now he's set to appear in Robert Zemeckis' return to live-action filmmaking,
Flight.
Goodman will co-star in the film as a friend of Denzel Washington's character, a troubled airline pilot considered a hero after saving his passengers from a disaster. That is until an investigation points to his drug and alcohol problems as a likely cause of the accident. Kelly Reilly, Brian Geraghty, Don Cheadle, and Bruce Greenwood co-star. [
