Trailer Time: Act of Valor, starring real life Navy Seals

Remember Jarhead? Sam Mendes directed that film which presented a fairly realistic look at what life was like for a soldier on the ground during wartime. It featured great acting by Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Foxx, along with some truly poignant moments.  It was also boring as all hell. You won't see a movie like that again, nope. Better to err on the side of being ridiculously fake but action packed, than be considered artsy and dull. And so you get a movie like Act of Valor.

We mentioned this film on the site awhile back as part of the numerous Navy Seal productions kicked off in the wake of Seal Team Six's killing of Osama Bin Laden. Directed by Mike “Mouse” McCoy and Scott Waugh, the film features real Navy Seals, real weapons and tactics, but a totally made up story about a mission to rescue a CIA agent. Unfortunately, in the attempt to make this as real as possible, the film instead looks like the Call of Duty video game. Check out the trailer below, and look out for Act of Valor when it drops on February 17th 2012....
