Trailer Time: The Adventures of Tintin, directed by Steven Spielberg

With the exception of the disappointing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Steven Spielberg has taken a break from big adventure films for years. Indiana Jones was limited, unfortunately, by the advanced age of it's hero(sorry Indy fans but the dude is just too old) and a pretty awful script.  Neither of those factors should come into play with The Adventures of Tintin, the first of Spielberg's two anticipated flicks coming at the end of the year.

For one, the entire film utilizes the performance capture technique we've seen in movies like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Avatar, and the movies of Robert Zemeckis. Peter Jackson and the talented folks at WETA appear to have taken the style to a whole new level with Tintin, creating a vibrant, living world that should be a joy to watch. The trailers we've seen so far have been stunning.

Second, the script is by Joe Cornish(Attack the Block), Edgar Wright(Shaun of the Dead), and Steven Moffat(Dr. Who). It's like a geek dream team.

Since the UK gets all the breaks, the film will land there on October 26th, before hitting US theaters on December 21st. A new trailer featuring tons of never before seen footage has been released, which you can check out below, courtesy of MSN...
