Anybody else get a whiff of Michael Bay's Transformers flicks there at the beginning? Whatever, this is exactly what you'd expect from a trailer hyping the most eagerly awaited comic book movie ever. Marvel should know they don't really need to show us anything more than quick flashes of the ridiculous roster to have fanboys salivating. So I was surprised we even saw that little spat between Captain America and Iron Man, assuming it'd be saved for the theatrical release. It's good to see that Nick Fury(Samuel L. Jackson) won't just be standing on the sidelines manipulating events for once, and appears to actually be a part of the action.
The Avengers is directed by Joss Whedon, and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Cobie Smulders(missing from this trailer unfortunately), Clark Gregg, and Stellan Skarsgard. Look for it to dominate the box office when it hits on May 4th 2012.
