Trailer Time: My Week With Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams and Eddie Redmayne

We've seen the photos of Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, and now we finally get a chance to hear her whispery, come hither voice in the new trailer for the film. I think those who might have been withholding judgement until we saw some actual footage can breathe a sigh of relief. Williams has the goods. Check it out below...

The camera loved Marilyn Monroe, and I think the same could be said of Michelle Williams, even if her beauty is a bit less glamorous. She doesn't appear to be trying to mimic Monroe, but creating her own version of the larger than life personality. My problem is that the film just doesn't look all that interesting, at least not what we're presented with in this trailer. It's not enough just to see her being all flirty and wistful with her assistant(Eddie Redmayne). The meaty stuff lies in the on-set squabbles she had with Laurence Olivier, but we don't get nearly enough of that.

My Week With Marilyn hits theaters on November 4th, so we'll presumably see another trailer by then. As for the Oscar race? Go ahead and pencil Williams in.
