Hopefully the arrival of this new poster for Seeking a Friend for the End of the World means a trailer isn't far behind. The oddly toned comedy takes place in the near future when the world is on the verge of destruction by an oncoming asteroid. Steve Carell plays a man who ventures off on a road trip to find his high school sweetheart to spend the final days on earth with. Keira Knightley plays his neighbor who tags along for the ride, where I'm assuming their outlooks will change and new love will be found.
The film marks the directorial debut of Lorene Scarfaria, writer of one of my favorites, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World opens on June 22nd.
